Burton Snowboards, a leading snowboard manufacturing company, has canceled all online orders today following what it describes as a “cyber incident.”

“We are currently experiencing a system outage due to a recent cyber incident and are unable to process online orders at this time,” the snowboarding brand says in a prominent alert on its website.

In a separate statement, Burton said that it’s currently investigating the incident with the help of outside experts to establish its impact.

While the company is working on restoring business operations that were impacted, orders are no longer being processed.

“Burton recently experienced a cyber incident, which is impacting some of our operations. We are working closely with third-party specialists to investigate the incident and determine the full nature and scope,” Burton said.

“We are also making every effort to get our operations back up and running, but unfortunately are not able to process orders at this time.”

Customers who want to buy snowboarding gear or get it shipped to their location are advised to go to a Burton store or use the company’s new online rental program.

The company did not provide details on the nature of this “cyber incident” but will likely update its statement once the ongoing investigation is concluded.

According to Burton’s privacy policy, its website uses 100% PCI compliant, meaning that “at no point during the order process or post order process are credit card details or bank account numbers saved or held by Burton.com.”

A Burton Snowboards spokesperson was unavailable for comment when contacted by BleepingComputer today.

Founded in 1977 by Jake Burton Carpenter, Burton is now one of the most well-known snowboard brands and its products are sold in thousands of stores worldwide.

Burton’s headquarters are in Burlington, Vermont, but it also has offices in Australia, Austria, Canada, California, China, and Japan.
