The University of Arkansas announced cybersecurity initiatives to secure the campus information technology (IT) infrastructure.
The Fayetteville university had previously implemented multi-factor authentication (MFA) to secure its IT assets. The University of Arkansas, which hosts over 22,000 students, will adopt four new cybersecurity initiatives, including:
- Shifting from administrator access by default to an appropriate privileges model on campus workstation computers
- Improved mobile device management, including data recovery procedures
- Encrypting data on university laptops
- Remaining compliant with security patches and updates
