The University of Arkansas announced cybersecurity initiatives to secure the campus information technology (IT) infrastructure.

The Fayetteville university had previously implemented multi-factor authentication (MFA) to secure its IT assets. The University of Arkansas, which hosts over 22,000 students, will adopt four new cybersecurity initiatives, including:

  1. Shifting from administrator access by default to an appropriate privileges model on campus workstation computers
  2. Improved mobile device management, including data recovery procedures
  3. Encrypting data on university laptops
  4. Remaining compliant with security patches and updates
