AI-focused compliance and security startup Comp AI has raised $34 million in Series A funding, bringing its total capital raised to more than $36 million as the company prepares to expand its platform into continuous cybersecurity.

Founded in January 2025 and based in Florida, Comp AI develops an artificial intelligence-powered governance, risk and compliance (GRC) platform designed to automate compliance processes and reduce the amount of manual work required from security teams.

AI-Powered Approach to Compliance

Comp AI uses organizational data and AI technology to automate several compliance-related activities, including customer onboarding, evidence collection, policy creation, control monitoring and security assessments.

The company’s approach comes as businesses increasingly adopt AI systems and face growing demands to demonstrate that their technology, processes and security controls meet regulatory and industry requirements.

Agentic AI can potentially perform validation and monitoring tasks with less continuous human involvement, allowing organizations to automate activities that traditionally require significant manual effort.

Company Plans Expansion Into Continuous Cybersecurity

Comp AI plans to use the new investment to move beyond traditional compliance automation and develop capabilities for continuous cybersecurity.

The planned expansion is expected to include real-time monitoring and validation of security controls across applications and infrastructure.

The company says its goal is to help organizations identify and respond to changing risks more proactively as software environments evolve.

$34 Million Series A Led by Investors

The Series A financing was led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures. Comp AI said the investment will support product development and business expansion.

The company also plans to recruit additional employees across engineering, product, sales, marketing, operations and customer success. Hiring efforts will focus on its operations in Miami and New York.

From Compliance Automation to Risk Management

Comp AI CEO and co-founder Lewis Carhart said the company’s initial focus was on making compliance processes faster and requiring fewer resources.

The company now intends to develop a broader platform capable of identifying, validating and responding to security risks as they emerge.

The strategy reflects a wider shift in enterprise security toward automation, continuous monitoring and AI-assisted risk management.

Growing AI Security Market

As organizations increasingly use AI to develop and update software, security and compliance teams face pressure to keep controls aligned with rapidly changing technology environments.

Traditional compliance programs often rely on periodic assessments and manual evidence collection. AI-driven platforms are increasingly being developed to automate these processes and provide more continuous visibility into security controls.

Comp AI’s latest funding will allow the company to expand its technology and workforce while pursuing its broader goal of combining AI-powered compliance with continuous cybersecurity monitoring.
